Is Pathogen Wars free to play?

Yes. Pathogen Wars is free to play. You can enjoy Quick Battle, Campaign, Multiplayer, and Tournament modes without spending any money. Optional in-game purchases are available for players who want to expand their card collection or customise their experience faster.

Do I need an account to play?

You can play as a guest without creating an account. However, creating a free account allows you to save your progress to the cloud, compete in tournaments, play multiplayer, and make purchases. Your progress is saved locally on your device even without an account.

What devices can I play on?

Pathogen Wars runs in any modern web browser on desktop and mobile devices. It can also be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for a native app-like experience on your phone or tablet.

Currencies

What currencies are used in the game?

There are three in-game currencies:

• Gold — The primary currency. Earned by winning battles, completing daily quests, and unlocking achievements. Used to buy Basic and Standard card packs.
• Gems — A premium currency for higher-tier card packs with better rarity odds. Earned from achievements and available for purchase with real money.
• Mutagen — A special currency used for advanced packs and mutations. Earned through Campaign progression and special events, and also available for purchase.

Can I earn currencies without paying?

Absolutely. Gold is earned from every battle you win and from daily quests that reset every 24 hours. Gems and Mutagen are earned from achievements and Campaign progress. Paying is entirely optional and only speeds up collection building.

Purchases

How do I make a purchase?

To purchase currencies or cosmetic items:

1. Open the Shop from the main menu (tap the Research button).
2. Switch to the Premium tab to see items available for real money.
3. Select the items you want — they will be added to your cart.
4. Open your cart and review the items.
5. Fill in your billing details and proceed to checkout.
6. Complete the payment through our secure payment provider.
7. Your currencies or items are added to your account immediately after payment confirmation.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) through our payment provider. All transactions are processed in EUR (€).

Are purchases refundable?

Because purchased items are digital content delivered immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable. Please refer to our Terms of Service for full details. If you believe a purchase was made in error, please contact us at info@pathogenwars.com.

Is there a spending limit?

Yes. Individual orders are limited to a maximum of €3,000 and 10 items per cart for consumer protection purposes.

What Can I Buy?

What are card packs?

Card packs contain a set of random cards that are added to your collection. Different packs have different rarity odds:

• Basic Pack (200 Gold) — 5 cards, mostly Common.
• Standard Pack (500 Gold) — 5 cards, better Uncommon chances.
• Premium Pack (Gems) — 5 cards with guaranteed Rare or better.
• Legendary Pack (Gems) — 5 cards with guaranteed Epic or better.

Cards come in five rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.

What cosmetic items are available?

You can purchase cosmetic items that change the look of your game without affecting gameplay:

• Core Skins — Change the appearance of your core structure.
• Backgrounds — Different battle arenas (Laboratory, Hospital, City, Military, Global, Cure).
• Card Backs — Custom designs for the back of your cards.

Gameplay

How do I build my deck?

Go to the Lab from the main menu. There you can see your full card collection and create custom decks by adding and removing cards. A balanced deck should include a mix of attack cards (Red), defense cards (Blue), and special ability cards (Green).

What game modes are available?

• Quick Battle — Fight an AI opponent at your chosen difficulty level (Beginner to Master).
• Campaign — Play through a story-driven series of battles with unique opponents and rewards.
• Multiplayer — Battle other players online in real-time.
• Tournament — Compete daily for prizes and leaderboard ranking.
